One of the most preferred types of dry beans, dermason beans are an important source of vegetable protein. Containing high amounts of dietary fiber, yayla dermason beans have prebiotic properties. It is a food rich in B vitamins and magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and iron minerals.
Consumed in South America since ancient times, dermason beans came to Anatolia in the 16th century. In Turkey, they are grown mainly in the Konya, Erzincan, NiÄŸde, Tokat, Malatya and Kayseri regions.
Yayla Dermason Beans are collected after ripening in the field, dried and yellowed. Foreign materials are removed by sieving, then the beans are separated according to their size and offered to the consumer. After soaking in cold water for 10-12 hours and draining, they are boiled for 30-40 minutes and are ready for consumption.
This product, which contains thiamine, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc, has been defined as a superfood by Migros .
